2nd GCC Women’s Sports Tournament — Opening Ceremony

Six nations. Three hundred athletes. One stage built for the women shaping the future of GCC sport. Zoom Arts & Designs delivered the turnkey opening ceremony for the 2nd GCC Women’s Sports Tournament at Longines Indoor Arena Doha in February 2026, a signature event hosted under the patronage of Hamad Bin Khalifa University.

The narrative followed a journey of possibility — from a grandmother’s memory to the modern Khaleeji woman — weaving together the heritage of all six GCC nations into a single, unified story of pride, strength and progress. Original score, original choreography, original graphic content; every frame and every beat was created from the ground up by Zoom’s in-house team.

The numbers behind the show: a 30-metre-wide LED screen, more than 400 lighting fixtures, 30 dancers, an opening parade of 300 athletes, 12 minutes of original graphic content, 1 original score, and an audience of 600 invited guests — all delivered on a 3-day build at the Longines Indoor Arena.

Zoom led design, production, project management, show direction, programming and content design end-to-end — from creative concept and storyboards through staging, rigging, content production and live show calling on the night. The result was a ceremony that honoured tradition while celebrating a new generation of Khaleeji women athletes.

As always, everything was possible.
